The AYN Odin 3 console team talked about the device development process, upcoming tests and more, and also posted photos dedicated to various components of the handheld online.
AYN has shared new details about the Odin 3 handheld console, which features a six-inch 1080x1920 (120 Hz) AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and 8 – 24 GB of RAM.
The team reported that the plastic molds have successfully moved to the T2 stage. Odin 3 plastic components are now manufactured without painting, so the back of the case will collect fewer fingerprints.
With the exception of the blue front glass, all other front glass colors (white, black, transparent purple, and warm gray) have passed color matching and sample approval. The transparent blue option, added based on user feedback prior to product launch, will complete color matching and sample approval next week.
The developers also published a photo of the handheld's board. Thermal performance testing of the Odin 3 motherboard will begin next week. If the test results meet expectations, the team will then proceed to order mass production of heat dissipation modules, fans and PCBA.
The recently released new Qualcomm Android 15 CS baseline code is being tested. Core functions such as touchscreen, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, charging and DP output are already working flawlessly. Starting next week, AYN employees will begin adapting built-in controller functions and top-level software. The first fully functional beta software and testing is expected by the end of October.
Over the next two weeks, the team plans to prepare approximately 10 Qualcomm 8E development samples (not review samples) to facilitate early adaptation of third-party GPU drivers and ensure smoother collaboration with partners.
It is worth recalling that people who pre-ordered the AYN Odin 3 on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform will begin receiving the devices as early as November 2025.
