In recent days, reports of a possible leak of Nintendo user data have appeared online. The Crimson Collective group, previously associated with a cyberattack on Red Hat, claimed to have hacked the servers.
After the publication of rumors, Nintendo issued an official statement:
"We have not lost any personal user data, nor has there been any leakage of information about games in development or internal projects." The company emphasized that the safety of players was not affected.
According to the Japanese publication Sankei, the attack did affect external servers associated with Nintendo's web resources, but no evidence of leakage or damage to customers has been found.
The incident was compared to the high-profile Teraleak hack, which resulted in Pokémon materials from Game Freak being leaked online. But this time nothing like that happened - no user data was stolen and no information about future games was disclosed.
Nintendo assured that the incident will not affect the company's operations and its plans in any way.
