NieR and Drakengard creator Yoko Taro has warned fans about fake autographs being actively sold on online platforms. On his X account, the developer responded to a fan's post showing a photo of a supposedly signed disc, stating that the signature was not genuine.

The photo, as it turned out, was taken from a deleted listing on the Vinted platform. The fake lot was an original NieR Re[in]carnation soundtrack, which usually costs $29.99, but was being sold for over $230 due to the game's author's "autograph."

According to Yoko Taro, this is not an isolated incident. He noted that he can distinguish a real signature from a fake one because he always adds small, unique details known only to him. The developer claims that almost half of the autographs offered for resale are fake.

Yoko Taro advised fans not to waste money on such offers and to refrain from buying signatures through third-party platforms.
