Some connoisseurs update the classics themselves.

At the end of October, Fallout 2 fans celebrate the anniversary of the project. A user with the nickname alien-mcl published his work — he wanted to present the classic game in 3D format:

Not so long ago, Todd Howard mentioned that he most likely won't be remastering our favorite classic Fallout and Fallout 2 games. This statement upset me, as I had been waiting for a long time for someone to return my good old classic Fallouts in a modern package.

Therefore, alien-mcl decided to act independently. The result of his 120+ hours of 3D modeling, texturing, drawing, coding, designing, and learning (he started with absolutely no knowledge of UE5) was the transfer of the initial level "Vault 8" into full 3D using Unreal Engine and Unreal Editor.

This is not the final version, but overall the level is currently "mostly" complete. It can be completely completed as a character built into the Unreal Editor; movement works on a hexagonal grid with full pathfinding.
