Not everyone is happy with the new version of the Bethesda game.
Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition was recently released. The updated version of Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition includes previously released additional content, as well as a selection of Creation Club modifications.
Not all members of the Fallout 4 PC community are happy with this release. Some were already preparing for the launch day, blocking the possibility of automatically updating the game — fearing for the safety of modifications.
Players believe that it should have been possible to switch between the new and old versions — there is a technical possibility to create a separate branch in Steam:
Classic Bethesda. Not only did they release this update, breaking mods and creating even more problems, but they also simply refused to spend a few minutes creating a separate public branch so that you could play on the old version without worrying about the update breaking mods, and they released an update with paid mods (Creations). Just create a separate branch so that we have a choice when we want to update to the latest build or not, and not worry about the update breaking mod compatibility. All you need to do is spend a few minutes in Steamworks.
Bethesda's announcement of the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition release on Steam began to receive "clown medals" (the award is called "jester", but in the Steam community it is actively used as an insult).
