Vedinad, the creator of the hit game Megabonk, has withdrawn his project from the "Best Debut Indie Game" nomination at The Game Awards 2025.
I am withdrawing [Megabonk] from The Game Awards. It's an honor and a dream to be nominated for TGA, but unfortunately, I don't think it fits the "Best Debut Indie Game" category. I've made games before under other studio names, so Megabonk isn't my debut project. Vote for any other game in the indie debut category, they are all wonderful.
The nominations for The Game Awards 2025 were announced on November 17. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 led the way, setting a record for the award with 12 nominations. It is followed by Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei (with 8 nominations each), and Hades 2 (6 nominations).
