Silent Hill f features multiple endings, and since its release, fans have been debating whether any of them can be considered "correct."
In a recent interview with DualShockers, NeoBards confirmed that Silent Hill f lacks a canonical or "true" ending. According to the developers, this decision is directly related to the series' philosophy and its approach to storytelling.
The story of Silent Hill f is presented through the lens of an unreliable narrator. The player does not receive definitive answers about which events were real and which were the result of the main character's distorted perception. Each of the endings adds new context, changing the interpretation of what has already been seen.
A unique feature of the structure is that the order in which the endings are obtained matters. Depending on the sequence in which the player sees the endings, subsequent scenes and dialogues may be perceived differently, even if they formally remain unchanged.
The studio believes that this openness to interpretation is an important part of the Silent Hill legacy. NeoBards hopes that players will discuss the endings for years to come, just as they do with the classic installments of the series.
