According to Greg Reisdorf, development costs are rising.
Former Call of Duty multiplayer creative director Greg Reisdorf stated in a new interview that game prices will inevitably reach $100. According to him, the market and investors demand this amid constantly rising development costs, and many publishers are simply waiting for someone to take the first step in order to follow suit.
At some point, the market will demand it. Your investors will be asking why you haven't done it, because the costs of developing games are very high.
Reisdorf believes that Grand Theft Auto VI will be the first game to cost $100, after which other publishers will follow its example with their projects.
GTA will break the $100 mark, depending on when it comes out.
