Amidst the release of the second season of the Fallout series, which has attracted a new audience to the franchise, fan attention is once again focused on Fallout 5. There is still no official news about the project, but Bethesda representatives have shared their expectations for the future of the series.
Studio Design Director Emil Pagliarulo stated:
I would be happy with a game that is as successful as previous Fallout games and continues to give fans what they love: a story to immerse themselves in and systems that they enjoy. It shouldn't be an experience for 20 or 100 hours, but for 200, 300, or even 600 hours — because that's the kind of games we make.
Pagliarulo also noted that the series should evolve and take into account modern convenience standards. As an example, he cited the Oblivion remaster:
People forget that you couldn't run in the original Oblivion. Of course, we added that to the remaster.
According to him, the studio intends to adapt to market changes:
The industry is moving forward, and we want to move with it.
