Fox Hunt Online Mode in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is Nearly Dead

The Fox Hunt multiplayer mode from Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, released as a free update on October 30, 2025, has turned out to be practically empty. Despite several months having passed since the release, finding a team to play with is almost impossible.

Matchmaking is often interrupted due to a lack of eight players, which for fans of the series has become a signal: Konami missed out on great potential.

Problems have been mounting since late December, when players with over 150 hours in the mode complained about absurdly long wait times and seeing the same faces on the servers. Now the situation is even worse: while over a thousand people are playing on Steam simultaneously, no one is interested in the online mode.

Fans blame Konami for the delayed release of Fox Hunt relative to the main campaign, which led to players leaving for other projects. The "death" of the mode became the culmination of a series of issues: bugs on PS5 Pro, poor support on PC, dissatisfaction with the 200-dollar collector's edition, and the postponement of the online mode after the game's release on August 28, 2025.
