The new chapter of the Predator franchise has officially become available for home viewing.
Starting January 6, Dan Trachtenberg's film Predator: Badlands became available on various digital platforms.
The film is the director's third work within the Predator franchise and tells the story of a young Yautja named Dek (Demetrius Schuster-Koloamatangi). Seeking to prove his right to be called a warrior, he travels to one of the most dangerous planets, where he risks becoming prey himself to the aggressive flora and fauna. There, Dek meets a Weyland-Yutani corporation synthetic named Tia, played by Elle Fanning. Together, they set out to hunt the most dangerous creature in the universe.
The film premiered on November 7, 2025. Despite concerns regarding the PG-13 age rating, Predator: Badlands received positive reviews from critics and audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, the critics' rating stood at 86%, which is slightly lower than the figures for Prey (94%) and Predator: Slayer of Slayers (95%). According to the audience, the film became the leader of the franchise, scoring 95% positive reviews.
However, despite the positive feedback, the film is believed to have not broken even at the box office. Estimates suggest its production budget was around $105 million, while box office receipts reached $184.2 million. The project's further financial fate now largely depends on the digital release, as well as the upcoming physical release scheduled for February 17.
