Nintendo is preparing new franchises and sequels to popular series
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has announced the company's plans, including new intellectual properties and sequels to popular series.
Furukawa noted that global shipments of Switch 2 have generally stabilized, but there is still a shortage in Japan. Nintendo strives to make the console accessible to both its own and third-party developers, as well as new players.
He added that the company is monitoring component prices, but this has not yet affected financial performance. Furukawa declined to comment on hypothetical scenarios regarding a possible price increase.
From 2026, Nintendo plans to significantly expand its lineup of games. Projects in popular series, for which many are waiting for sequels, as well as completely new franchises have been confirmed.
Nintendo is gradually revealing details of the Zelda movie and is preparing to promote the next Super Mario movie. The main goal of these projects is not short-term profit, but strengthening the images of the characters and creating a base for future films.
