Since the Beginning of 2026, Microsoft, Activision, and ZeniMax Media Have Registered 22 Trademarks in Russia
In the first days of 2026, Microsoft and its subsidiaries registered 22 applications filed last year. These include both Microsoft service names and key gaming franchises, from Halo and Minecraft to Wolfenstein, Quake, and The Outer Worlds.
The applications were sent to Rospatent in October 2025 by the American companies Microsoft, Activision Publishing (which owns the Call of Duty and Warcraft brands), and ZeniMax Media (Fallout, The Elder Scrolls). Their registration was completed on January 5–6, 2026, with the term of exclusive rights set to expire on October 3, 2035.
According to Rospatent data, the trademarks Minecraft and Mojang Studios, as well as the names Halo, Wasteland, World of WarCraft, Wolfenstein, Starfield, Quake, Gears of War, Sea of Thieves, and The Outer Worlds, were protected. In addition, the Xbox gaming console brand and a separate ZeniMax Media trademark featuring Vault Boy, the iconic mascot of the Vault-Tec corporation from the Fallout series, have been registered.
