The developers have not yet been able to convey their vision to all the players who are interested in the project.
In The Blood of Dawnwalker, the developers decided to set a timer — the hero has 30 days to save his family. Not all players have yet understood how this mechanic works, so it causes some concern.
Recently, the developers explained how the timer works — the game will not end after the countdown is complete:
You will have 30 days and 30 nights to complete Cohen's main goal — to save his family. The game will not end after this period expires, but your family... may suffer the consequences.
The "countdown" itself does not run in real time. "Time" in the game is a kind of resource, its amount will decrease only with certain actions:
You don't have to worry about time while exploring — there is no constant "timer" here; time does not flow continuously, and exploration does not advance it at all. It is advanced by completing tasks and some other actions, and it will be visible in advance how much they will shift the time. The day and night cycle is related to this time mechanic, but you can also skip time.
