Battles with Giant Roosters, a Huge World, and Over a Thousand Characters: New Details of Fable from Playground Games
During the Developer Direct broadcast, Microsoft showed the first full gameplay of the new Fable from Playground Games in a long time. Some details of the upcoming role-playing game have also become known.
The plot of Fable begins with the childhood of the main character, who grows up in the village of Briar Hill. It is there that his abilities first awaken, making him the first hero of Albion in a generation. However, the idyll is destroyed by a mysterious stranger who turns the village and all its inhabitants into stone. The player has to go on a long journey to figure out what happened.
Fable offers the player to explore a huge and seamless world with cities, castles, dense forests and other attractions.
You can explore the world at your own pace, buy houses, run a business, become a blacksmith, get married and have children. More than a thousand fully voiced characters live in the game world, each of whom has a daily routine, work, hobbies and their own opinion about the player's actions. All characters react to the hero's actions and remember them.
The combat system, as in the classic parts of the series, combines melee combat, ranged attacks and magic. Players will find light and heavy combos, spectacular finishing moves, as well as a variety of opponents — both familiar and new, including a giant cockatrice.
The morality system returns, but now it lacks a clear division into good and evil — many decisions will be in a gray area.
