Some believe that preserving old games is very important.
Recently, the head of New Blood Interactive, Dave Oshry, in an interview with RPG Site, shared his opinion about GOG. He acknowledged its work in preserving old games, but doubted that the store has a future.
GOG responded to this and published a statement:
We appreciate Dave's honesty, and he is right about one thing: games can only be preserved when people really care about it. GOG was created to ensure that the games that shaped us live forever. And with the support of our community, we have been doing this for almost 20 years. The future of game preservation is determined by those who care.
The creators of GOG appealed to gamers with a call:
Buy games without DRM, vote in Dreamlist, join GOG Patrons. If games mean something to you, show it. Let's prove together that preserving games is not a niche idea. It's a necessity.
