People believe that Asha Sharma's profile was urgently "pumped up" by other people.
The new head of Microsoft's gaming division, Asha Sharma, has commented on the discussions surrounding her Xbox profile and social media activity.
Responding to IGN journalist Ryan McCaffrey, Sharma stated that she did not expect such a strong reaction. According to her, the reality turned out to be much more prosaic: the account was created recently to better understand the Xbox ecosystem, and the profile itself was used by the whole family on different devices. This explains the wide list of games and achievements. On the weekend, as Sharma clarified, the situation was corrected — now each family member plays under their own gamertag.
I don't claim to be the best gamer, and my goal isn't just to play. My job is to make Xbox the best place to play, to get back to basics, to release great products, and to become stronger in the future.
In addition, she commented on suggestions that her posts may have been written using AI — a field in which she previously worked within Microsoft. Sharma agreed that faking a passion for games would be a mistake, and stressed that her interest in the industry is genuine.
