The creators of Vampire Survivors have introduced a new product. A demo of the spin-off Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard appeared on Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest and is already gathering positive reviews.
Studio poncle, a three-time BAFTA winner, has abandoned automatic action gameplay in favor of turn-based card roguelike this time.
Instead of endless running and shooting, the player collects unusual decks, thinks over combos, and explores familiar dungeons from a new perspective. Different Crawlers characters are available in the demo, and after each run you can return to the village, buy upgrades, and experiment with damage combinations.
The project offers two styles of play: thoughtful strategy analysis or fast pace. The developers emphasize that this is not a clone, but a canonical addition to the Vampire Survivors universe. The demo is free and gives an idea of the full version, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
