Modern technologies make it possible to improve role-playing games.
Recently chams talked about his way to "revive" any characters in Fallout: New Vegas.
To do this, he used the "SillyTavern" interface and several language models:
The idea is that you can take any game, download all the information about it from the Wiki and upload it to SillyTavern. Then each character will have its own full-fledged background, connections, opinions on various issues, etc., and he will be able to answer you accordingly. In addition, each voice is automatically cloned using the game files and matched to each NPC. Characters can also be given as much information about the game world as needed at each step — for example, their current location, player characteristics, player health, etc.
In his build, the Cydonia model is responsible for the roles and character of the characters (information from the Wiki is used). The received messages are then processed through the Qwen model, which acts as a "game master":
In fact, [this model] decides which actions should correspond to which functions in the game. This means that you can role-play more freely, there is no strict structural restriction, which leads to much better results.
Not everyone appreciated the chams approach. According to _Iggy_Lux, he is "complicating everything" and "it would be much more logical" to use an existing modification or make his own, without using Sillytavern.
As examples, he cited mods for Skyrim and Fallout 4:
- Herika - The ChatGPT Companion
- CHIM
- Mantella for FO4 and FO4 VR - NPCs Redefined
