Players suddenly started defending failed EA games years later

Players are increasingly returning to old Electronic Arts projects and concluding that many of the publisher's games were criticized too harshly. Years later, some projects that failed at launch are now being called underrated.

One of the main examples was Anthem. The game failed due to a lack of content and support issues, and its servers were shut down this year. However, the flight system and combat in Javelin suits are still considered one of the best mechanics in the genre — many compare the feeling to playing Iron Man.

A similar story happened with Mass Effect: Andromeda. After fixing animation issues, players began to praise the combat system, planet exploration, and characters, who eventually found their audience.

Over time, attitudes towards Dragon Age II also changed. At launch, the game was criticized for taking place in one city, but now fans appreciate the dynamic combat, the hero Hawke, and the deep immersion in conflicts.

Even last year's Immortals of Aveum, despite a weak plot, received praise for its unusual magic that works like weapons from shooters.

Players also recall GoldenEye: Rogue Agent, Fuse, and Def Jam: Icon as bold experiments that, according to the community, the industry currently lacks.
