Defenders of Hogwarts, a board game set in the Harry Potter universe, has been announced

MinaLima is a well-known British studio specializing in graphic design and illustrations for film, publishing, and theme parks.

They have worked on the Potteriana and the "Fantastic Beasts" film series. It was MinaLima who designed the "Marauder's Map", "The Daily Prophet" newspaper, letters from Hogwarts, packaging for "Honeydukes" sweets, spellbooks, "The Quibbler" magazine, and more.

Now it has been announced that this studio has unveiled a board game set in the Harry Potter universe, titled Defenders of Hogwarts. The project is designed for 2–5 players, and a game session takes 90–180 minutes.

Lord Voldemort's arrival at the castle is imminent. Players must prepare for this by honing their spellcasting skills, exploring the legendary grounds of Hogwarts, and laying the groundwork for the battle between good and evil. Users will have to decide whether to act as a loyal Hogwarts student or as a member of the Dark Forces, seeking to usher in a new era of darkness.

Defenders of Hogwarts is a semi-cooperative adventure game with campaign progression or individual scenarios, deck-building mechanics before the game, action point spending, events, and movement across the game board.

The board game already has its own page on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. Defenders of Hogwarts will be available in a limited edition in select online stores, at House of MinaLima locations, and Harry Potter stores in autumn 2026. A worldwide release in multiple languages is planned for spring 2027.
