GTA VI Fan Predicts Rockstar's Plans Based on Smoked Cigarettes and Oxygen Levels Near Developer Studio
Developers are in no hurry to share news, so some individuals obtain information through unconventional methods.
Recently, a tech enthusiast under the nickname Then-Pomegranate-625 told the Grand Theft Auto VI community about how he "eavesdrops" on Rockstar's office. As it turned out, he not only analyzes noise but also tracks smoked cigarettes.
According to Then-Pomegranate-625, he also analyzes environmental parameters near the GTA VI developers' headquarters. He observed a decrease in oxygen levels in the evening, meaning employees consumed more oxygen after working hours – this could indicate intense work:
I had a suspicion that management was meeting after hours at headquarters to discuss marketing / third trailer. Now my data confirms this: there was a decrease in oxygen levels over the weekend [...].
Then-Pomegranate-625 also reported that he started counting cigarette butts near Rockstar's headquarters. He feels that this makes it even easier to track stress levels:
On average, a smoker smokes about 15 cigarettes, but today I counted 71 cigarettes in 19 hours. At the same time, 11 cars were observed, and on average 2 out of 10 people smoke, which means an insane number of cigarettes around the headquarters. Even assuming 3 out of 10 smoke (which is unlikely), this would give an average of 45 cigarettes, meaning developers smoke almost twice as much. The stress level is clearly high.
The release of Grand Theft Auto VI on consoles is expected in November 2026. The developers have not yet announced the release date for the PC version of the game.
