Yo-ho-ho and no transfers: Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has gone "gold"
The remake will be released on July 9 for PC and consoles.
Ubisoft announced that Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, a remake of the iconic Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, has gone gold. This means that the main development of the project is complete, and the final version has already been sent for certification for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
The developers emphasize that Black Flag Resynced is a remake, not a simple remaster. The project is being created on a modern version of Ubisoft's proprietary engine, thanks to which players can expect seriously redesigned graphics and gameplay mechanics.
According to Design Director Julian Koh, one of the team's main goals was to improve the parkour system. For this, the developers had to re-engineer the collision system and many environmental elements. Additional difficulties arose due to the introduction of the ability to crouch – a mechanic that was not present in the original game.
The core gameplay remains the same, but now we have many more tools to implement it. Many systems had to be literally rebuilt from scratch.
Creative Director Paul Fu emphasized that despite numerous improvements, the game retains the spirit of the classic installments of the series.
