Just a bad memory: Final Fantasy VII Revelation game director has already played the game 40 times and cried every time because of one scene
Naoki Hamaguchi turned out to be a very emotional person. Or he simply forgot how the plot developed.
Naoki Hamaguchi, the game director of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, said that one of the key scenes in the upcoming Revelation invariably evokes strong emotions in him. According to the developer, he has completed the game about 40 times, and each time this episode brought him to tears.
In an interview with the Brazilian publication Omelete, Hamaguchi shared details about the scene, which, in his opinion, became one of the most successful in the project. Although he did not reveal its content directly, the game director hinted that it was about an important moment of the protagonist's self-awareness.
There is a scene, extremely important for the story of Final Fantasy VII, where Cloud goes through a moment of deep introspection and comes to understand his personality, as well as how it relates to Zack and Aerith.
It is worth noting that although the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy generally follows the plot of the original 1997 game, the developers regularly expand and reinterpret familiar events. Therefore, the moment described by Hamaguchi could be either a new interpretation of a classic scene or a completely new plot episode created specifically for Revelation.
