Team Clout promises a "modern level of horror" inspired by Ravenholm from Half-Life 2.

Team Clout studio revealed new details about their brutal horror game ILL, which has already attracted players' attention due to extremely violent scenes. According to the company's CEO, Max Verekhin, the game does not try to shock for the sake of shock — the developers aim to recreate the same emotions that the famous town of Ravenholm from Half-Life 2 once delivered.

The recently published story trailer for ILL focuses more on the story, but many viewers remembered the video primarily for its realistic scenes of dismemberment, monster destruction, and other brutal moments. Verekhin noted that the team has extensive experience in the horror genre — from games to cinema and concept art — and from the very beginning wanted to create a project that could surprise even a sophisticated audience.

According to him, in the early stages of development, the authors did not limit themselves in ideas, and only then sought a balance between originality and acceptable boundaries. The head of the studio emphasized that ILL cannot be called "gore porn": the main goal of the game is to scare and entertain, not just to shock players.

The plot of the new game unfolds in a hospital where something terrible has happened. The main character wakes up from a coma and finds himself drawn into a battle with monsters. At the same time, the developers are betting not only on survival but also on dynamic battles. Verekhin said that the game combines elements of horror and action, and the destruction of monsters should bring pleasure even against the backdrop of a gloomy atmosphere.

This is where the influence of Ravenholm can be traced. Team Clout recalls the emotions caused by battles with zombies and headcrabs using a gravity gun and circular saws. The developers want to achieve a similar effect, but with the use of modern technologies and a significantly higher level of detail.

Despite the fact that the realistic demonstration of violence causes a mixed reaction from some of the audience, the studio believes that the game does not have to please everyone.

ILL will be released in 2027.
