Following in the Footsteps of Crimson Desert. DragonSword: Awakening Will Be Released Without Gacha and Microtransactions - Demo Available

South Korean studio Hound13 announced that the action-RPG DragonSword: Awakening will be released on July 23, 2026, on PC. A demo version is currently available on Steam.

DragonSword: Awakening has become another game from South Korea that was initially conceived as an online project and eventually transformed into a single-player RPG. Crimson Desert previously followed a similar path, being developed as an MMO in its early stages until Pearl Abyss decided to focus on a single-player adventure. Hound13 studio made a similar decision.

The developers confirmed that DragonSword: Awakening will not be a free-to-play game and will not feature a gacha system. The project will be sold under the standard one-time purchase model.

The creators describe DragonSword: Awakening primarily as a single-player action-RPG. However, the game will offer co-op for three players. The story and main gameplay are focused on single-player progression.
