Ghost Recon Wildlands to Get Native PS5 Version - Leak

Following the financial success of the updated version of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Ubisoft seems to have decided to more actively re-release its old hits. This time, the company's attention was drawn to the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands series.

Players have noticed changes in digital stores that indicate the tactical shooter Ghost Recon Wildlands will be released on PS5 and will receive a full version for the current-generation console.

The first hints appeared in the Steam database, where a new edition of the game with the subtitle Definitive Edition was discovered. The records contain new images and direct mentions of previously unannounced additional content that will be released in August.

The most curious discovery was the change to the game's page in the PS Store. The description now states that the purchase grants the right to download both PS4 and PS5 versions. Previously, Ubisoft did not use such wording for its games with minor improvements.

Ubisoft has not officially announced anything yet. However, the publisher needs reliable sources of income that do not require years of development. Releasing an updated version of Ghost Recon Wildlands with additional DLC fits well into the strategy of maximizing profit with minimal financial risks.
