Marvel Studios has reportedly already decided on the actor to play one of the antagonists in the reboot.

Recently, insider MyTimeToShineHello reported that Adam Driver has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' "X-Men" reboot as an unnamed villain. Later, former Nexus Point News author Apocalyptic Horseman clarified that it was indeed Magneto — Erik Lehnsherr.

Adam Driver is known for his role as Kylo Ren in the "Star Wars" sequel trilogy, as well as films such as "Marriage Story," "BlacKkKlansman," "The Last Duel," and "Ferrari." The actor was nominated for an Oscar for the first two films.

If the information is confirmed, he will be the first actor cast in the new mutant film. Previously, names of potential reboot participants appeared exclusively in the context of Marvel Studios' interest. For example, it was previously reported that three actresses — Sydney Sweeney, Margot Robbie, and Sabrina Carpenter — were being considered for the role of Emma Frost.

The "X-Men" reboot is being handled by "Thunderbolts" director Jake Schreier. The new version of the script is being written by "Beef" creator Lee Sung Jin and "The Bear" co-producer Joanna Calo. The start date for filming or the premiere is not yet known.
