According to insiders, Microsoft is making a new Xbox controller with a touchpad for PC gaming, a fingerprint scanner, and enhanced haptic feedback.
A patent project for a new Microsoft controller has leaked online. Based on it, insiders also created a concept render of the device. Judging by the leaks, there will be many changes, although the company will retain the familiar design.
The new Xbox controller outwardly resembles the Xbox Series gamepad but will feature a touchpad. This seems logical, as the upcoming Helix is expected to support some PC games and launchers where a mouse analog is indispensable.
The PC features don't end there. According to insiders, the controller will receive a biometric scanner for fingerprint login. It will be able to automatically identify the user, enable parental controls, and protect digital store purchases and changes to important system settings.
Enhanced haptic feedback systems are also reported. The vibration force is said to be up to three times higher than that of DualSense.
