The Blood of Dawnwalker to get 60 FPS mode - developers respond to criticism
It turned out that for many, 60 FPS on consoles is important.
In August, Rebel Wolves studio presented gameplay of the console versions of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The game was shown on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X (without the S-version), and all these devices had one thing in common – none were expected to show 60 FPS at launch. Depending on the mode, players could get a “target” of 30 or 40 frames.
Players criticized the developers, and recently they responded with an announcement. Rebel Wolves studio announced that The Blood of Dawnwalker will indeed receive a 60 FPS mode on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X – it will be included in the day-one patch:
On Friday, when we were answering your questions about console performance, we only talked about the features we were confident we could deliver by the game's release. The “Performance” mode was already in development, but it was still being tested – we just weren't ready to promise its release by launch.
The Blood of Dawnwalker developers said they studied the feedback and it “became clear how important [60 FPS] is to many,” so they focused on completing another round of testing for the mode:
The results allowed us to confidently confirm that the “Performance” mode will be available on release day.
