After a year of exclusivity on PlayStation 5 and PC, Black Myth: Wukong has also arrived on Xbox Series X|S. The ElAnalistaDeBits channel conducted a comparison of all versions and noted significant technical differences.
As on PS5 and PS5 Pro, Xbox consoles received three graphics modes: "Quality," "Balanced," and "Performance." However, the implementation differs. On Series X in "Performance" mode, the resolution is higher than on PS5, but shadows and global illumination are reduced. On Series S, simplifications are observed in almost all aspects: draw distance, lighting, shadows, and vegetation.
According to ElAnalistaDeBits, only PS5 and PS5 Pro maintain a stable level of graphics in "Performance" mode. But Series X also has advantages—better vegetation draw distance and higher quality textures in certain scenes.
In terms of smoothness, all consoles show an acceptable result, but frame rate fluctuations are more noticeable on Xbox. The exception is PS5 Pro, where stability is higher. In "Balanced" mode, the game runs at 45 fps on all platforms, and with 120 Hz enabled, it runs at 40 fps, which makes the image smoother.
Conclusion: Black Myth: Wukong has confirmed its status as one of the most demanding projects of the generation. Despite the compromises, the Xbox version is generally solid.
