The mobile version of Rust is gradually moving towards release. After a demonstration at Gamescom, Level Infinite studio opened recruitment for participants in the closed beta test.
November 1 marks the start of the first closed beta test for Rust Mobile — an adaptation of the multiplayer survival simulator for mobile devices.
Up to 30,000 users from the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan, and Thailand will be able to participate in the testing. It will take place simultaneously on iOS and Android. To gain access, you need to take a survey and register on the official website of Rust Mobile.
The mobile version is being developed by Level Infinite under license and under the control of Facepunch Studios. According to the authors, Rust Mobile will retain the key features of the original: survival in a dynamic online environment, a crafting system, PvP battles, and clan wars. The first players have already tested the project at Gamescom 2025, and now the studio is preparing a larger-scale test.
Recruitment of participants will last until September (the exact date is not specified). Among the minimum system requirements are Android 10+ with a Snapdragon 768G, Dimensity 1000, Kirin 980 or similar chipset, or an iPhone with iOS 15 and newer (starting with A14 Bionic). Memory requirements: 6 GB of RAM and 20 GB of free space.
Participants' progress will not be saved after the test is completed. Monetization is absent in this version, but developers have allowed streaming and content publication.
The release date for Rust Mobile has not yet been announced, but the launch of the beta test indicates successful progress in development.
