At PAX West 2025, the GVG channel shared their impressions after testing the game and noted technical issues, including an unstable frame rate.
Visitors were prohibited from recording gameplay from the Switch 2 version — Ubisoft only allowed impressions after the session. According to the team, the demo looked ambitious but raised questions about optimization. Steve from GVG called the experience "quite difficult," specifying that the frame rate often dropped below 30 during a scene on the Star Destroyer.
The problems are related to the use of ray tracing and DLSS upscaling, which were included in the build for Switch 2. The technologies are supposed to improve the picture and performance, but the effect was weak: the heroine's hair and character lighting looked flat, and space battles lost their зрелищность compared to other consoles.
Previously, Outlaws had already been criticized for technical dips on PlayStation 5 and portable PCs. The Switch 2 version amplified these criticisms, reminiscent of old Nintendo ports with noticeable concessions in graphics and stability.
Amid criticism, Ubisoft added a cross-progress system: players will be able to transfer saves between platforms. This step was received positively. But given the release on September 4, 2025, the question remains whether it will be possible to improve the version for Switch 2.
