The Blood of Dawnwalker developers explained the details of the notoriety system

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a combat role-playing game with a medieval atmosphere from Rebel Wolves studio, where former CD Projekt RED employees work. The game offers a personal journey of the main character Koen, torn between humanity and vampirism, who needs to save his family in 30 days.

Although there is no strict time limit, players will have to monitor Koen's hunger, especially at night. One of the key mechanics is the notoriety system. According to creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, attacks on the troops of the antagonist vampire Bransis can create problems, but at the same time give unexpected advantages.

"The more you become known in the valley by taking actions against Bransis, the more actively he reacts. He may send more soldiers to the streets or roads, impose a curfew. It becomes more difficult to get food at night."

Other NPCs will also notice your actions, which can give an advantage in relationships with individual factions.

"This applies not only to Bransis and his troops. People in the valley will recognize you and be afraid. This even helps in some tasks. There are factions that are fighting Bransis; by building notoriety, you improve relations with them."

The player decides whether to explore the world of Dawnwalker completely or go straight to Bransis.

The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released in 2026 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
