Snake has returned to the spotlight with the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and the game has received positive feedback from fans and critics.
Konami brought in young developers to continue the legacy of the series, but the team formation began back in 2020, as producer Noriaki Okamura revealed in an interview.
"We noticed that many people don't know Metal Gear, and we decided that something needed to be done about it. We decided: let's make a remake," Okamura explained. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was chosen as a good entry point for newcomers, and the rest is history. But this is just the beginning.
"We have created a team capable of making Metal Gear games. At the same time, we tried to attract many young specialists to work on high-class AAA projects. This is a great opportunity for them not to be limited to one franchise, but to work on different projects," added the producer.
It is not yet known if there will be new remakes, but Okamura and producer Yuji Korekado are ready to consider this possibility.
"If fans want to see more after the game, we will think about other projects. That's all for now."
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
