The developers promise a balanced system that makes destruction spectacular.
The battle royale mode in Battlefield 6 will use the same environmental destruction system as the main multiplayer modes. This was announced by lead producer David Sirland.
Buildings will be destroyed depending on their materials. However, complete destruction of buildings is not planned - after destruction, piles of debris will remain, the amount of which will depend on the type of building and the materials used. This decision is aimed at maintaining the readability of the gameplay. Sirland noted that complete destruction is "not a good idea", and that is why the developers focused on creating a balanced system where destruction looks spectacular but does not break the game balance.
In addition, after the open beta test last month, the studio refined the level of destruction to better match the materials of the buildings. For example, damage from explosions (such as C4 or rockets) will depend on the type of structure.
