The company's shares have plummeted. An analyst recommends starting to get rid of them.

A journalist from TheGamer decided to release a piece about Ubisoft and the cancellation of Assassin's Creed, which would have taken place during the American Civil War, and the plot would have told about a black slave fighting for justice and resisting the rise of the Ku Klux Klan. According to Game File, the French office of the company decided to curtail development, deciding not to take risks amid criticism of the black samurai Yasuke in Shadows and the not-so-stable political situation in the United States.

TheGamer writer called Ubisoft's management "cowards" for burying a truly interesting concept.

I won't hide it: Ubisoft's management was scared. Against the backdrop of a growing surge of conservative populism in the gaming industry, attacking everything that is considered progressive, and the strengthening of the right-wing bias in world politics, the company decided to take the easy way out and completely cancel the game, despite the universal enthusiasm for the concept.
