Some people really like it when a game poses a serious challenge.
Recently, a recording of a fragment of the "Play, Watch, Listen" podcast went viral in the gaming community. The writer of God of War spoke about a trick that some developers allegedly use to get higher scores.
A certain developer friend of Alana Pearce said that his studio sometimes makes the press build more difficult-they found that the more difficult the game, the better it is received by journalists.
Alana explained that "People tend to think: \"If I played it better, it would be an amazing game,\" so even without reaching the end, they will give the game a positive rating. If they do reach the end, the rating may be lower because \"the game was not challenging enough.\""
