It seems that a ray of hope has appeared for Unreal Engine 5. The new shooter ARC Raiders showed unexpectedly good optimization, which has not been expected from this engine for a long time.
Even before the weekend, the game scored impressive results — so much so that it can compete with even Battlefield 6 in terms of dynamics. On Steam, Embark Studios' project already has 89% positive reviews and the number is growing.
ARC Raiders was created on the Unreal Engine 5, which is often criticized for its low performance. But the developers managed to achieve a stable 60 frames per second at 1080p (DLAA) and maximum settings without RTGI on the RTX 4060 video card. This is an impressive result for a budget video card.
According to the Geralt Benchmarks test, the same RTX 4060 delivers over 70 fps when using DLSS 4 Quality and RTGI enabled. The zWORMz Gaming channel showed how the project works on a more powerful RTX 5070, and also proved that you can play ARC Raiders even on Steam Deck.
Visually, the game is also not inferior to top releases. ARC Raiders has become one of the most beautiful and technologically advanced games of 2025, and at the same time — one of the most optimized. Therefore, it is not surprising that Embark Studios receives a flurry of praise from players who have already immersed themselves in its post-apocalyptic world.
