The Wake of the Water update for Enshrouded has brought players back to one of the most popular survival games of recent years. Creative Director Anthony Christoulakis said that Keen Games is almost ready to launch version 1.0 in 2026. The number of players exceeds 4.5 million.
Since its release, the studio's staff has grown from 40 to 80 people, with some tasks being outsourced. Enshrouded noted that further expansion will slow down in order to maintain efficiency. The team is working on console versions and a number of new features: improved training, combat system, controls and camera.
Special attention is paid to social opportunities: players build large-scale structures, share them on Discord, and Keen Games plans to simplify the process of sharing creativity. The players' wish list contains tens of thousands of ideas, and the studio evaluates daily what is more important to implement.
An important innovation was the water element, which adds changes to the gameplay. Christoulakis emphasized that the release of version 1.0 will not be the end of support. Updates and content will be released for years to come. After version 1.0, Keen Games does not plan to switch to other projects — all efforts are focused on Enshrouded.
