Heroes of Might & Magic Olden Era developers use the "33% rule" of the Civilization creator to make the perfect sequel
The developers took into account the experience of previous games in the franchise.
The creators of Heroes of Might and Magic Olden Era continue to communicate with journalists. During a recent interview with GamesRadar+, the CEO of Unfrozen studio revealed the approach to work.
Denis Fedorov explained:
The components of a good sequel are: one third old [ideas], another third - improvements, and a third of something new.
This refers to the "33 percent rule" of the creator of the Civilization franchise Sid Meier:
33% completely new features [functions], 33% - improvements to existing ones and 33% remain about the same.
This approach allows you to maintain balance: old fans will get some familiar elements, but fresh ideas can also be introduced into the project, which are potentially able to attract a new audience.
According to Fedorov, the developers at Unfrozen hope to create "something large-scale and at the same time fundamental"
