Instead of level 12 character power, a new buff system will be introduced to the game.
Supercell has unveiled a major Brawl Stars update, set to be the most significant progression change since the introduction of the "Hypercharge" mechanic.
"Buffs" are special modifiers that enhance fighters' abilities without adding new buttons or complex mechanics. The developers explain that this is intended to balance some characters and expand the variability of their skills. Each fighter will receive three buffs: for gadgets, for hypercharge, and for star power.
Buffs can be obtained through a "vending machine" that guarantees one buff for 1000 coins and 2000 power points. The first use of the machine will be free. Later, buffs will be available for purchase with gems and through special offers.
Supercell emphasizes that the implementation of the mechanic will take time. Buffs require more complex development than hypercharges, so in the first wave, they will only appear for six characters, including Colt and Spike.
Buffs will replace epic and mythic gear, and players will be refunded the resources spent. Some gadgets will also be reworked.
In addition to the buff system, Supercell will add a new type of chest and update the battle pass structure to make the rewards more valuable.
The company notes that all the described changes are still under development and may change by the time of release. Supercell will share new details on the upcoming Brawl Talk, which will take place on December 13.
