In October, Krafton called itself the first fully AI-oriented gaming company, but Eleventh Hour Games, owned by the Korean giant, claims that it will not affect them.
Amid Krafton's active promotion of the idea of using AI in development, its subsidiary Eleventh Hour Games, the creators of Last Epoch, issued a separate statement. The team emphasized that they will continue to work "as before" — without the introduction of AI tools.
«There is active discussion in the community regarding Krafton's recent "AI-first" approach and what that may mean for EHG. We want to clarify: our approach to development is not changing. We are still creating Last Epoch the same way we always have, adhering to a manual, verified design philosophy.»
The developers clarified that they are recruiting employees in various fields and invite specialists who have a good understanding of the ARPG genre. This statement was a direct response to questions from players concerned about the possible impact of Krafton's new course on processes within Eleventh Hour.
Nevertheless, the company faced criticism due to another part of the appeal — a block that reveals further plans for the development of the game. The developers announced that the Orobyss add-on will be free for Last Epoch owners, but at the same time announced the introduction of paid classes. This angered part of the community, which accused the studio of breaking previous promises.
