The small development team did not expect Peak, created in four weeks as a collaboration between Aggro Crab and Landfall studios, to become a phenomenon. Despite selling 10 million copies and the temptation to turn the game into a service, the developers chose a different path.

Aggro Crab's head, Nick Kaman, said in an interview:

We are currently working on Peak almost full-time, while the rest of the team is finishing Crashout Crew. We won't be developing this game indefinitely, but we also don't want to leave unfinished what inspires us.

Although Peak continues to generate revenue, Kaman acknowledges that the ideal conditions for long-term game operation exist. However, the developers' goal is to bring it to a state where everything that inspires them is realized, and then move on to the next project.

Since the game's surge in popularity, the developers have invested a lot of time in its development. In 2026, they plan to slow down a bit, and updates will be released less frequently.
