Reviews for the REDSEC battle royale mode have turned negative altogether.
For the first time since its launch in October 2025, the number of concurrent players in Battlefield 6 on Steam has dropped below the 100,000 mark.
Players and analysts highlight several key reasons for the sharp decline in online activity:
Lack of content. Many complain about the small number of vehicles, weapons, gadgets, and especially maps. Players note that the maps feel too small or do not match the classic Battlefield style.
- Issues after update 1.1.3.0. The patch worsened the state of the game, causing new bugs and dissatisfaction with the balance
- Loss of the series' "identity." The absence of a traditional server browser, voice chat, official persistent servers, and spectator mode. The game feels less deep compared to previous installments
- Slow and annoying progression. Weapon unlocking happens too slowly, and some in-game tasks cause frustration
- Neglect of the Portal mode. The community creates interesting modes and maps that are not promoted in the menu and do not grant experience
- Netflix-style menu. The interface with an emphasis on advertising and subscriptions irritates players
- Furthermore, fans are unhappy that EA used generative artificial intelligence to create cosmetic items
