Skyrim launched with 4,000 mods and DLSS 5 - surprisingly well-performing
An enthusiast decided to cram a lot of extra elements and technologies into the game.
Experimenters continue to insert the NVIDIA DLSS 5 library into a wide variety of games. It was only a matter of time before it reached The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Recently, a gamer under the nickname fjeldar returned to the Bethesda Game Studios game and decided not only to implement modern technology into it but also to install a few modifications — about 4 thousand of them in total.
It is already known that NVIDIA DLSS 5 significantly reduces performance: a "normal" drop can be around 50-60%. One might think that the additional load of mods would finally kill the system, but everything works surprisingly well.
Fjeldar conducted the test on a PC with a GeForce RTX 4080 Super, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 32 GB of DDR5 RAM.
As a result, he managed to get a quite playable version — he ran around the city, the game didn't crash, and overall the gameplay looks smooth. The enthusiast has not yet specified the list of mods.
The NVIDIA DLSS 5 library fell into the hands of players before its official release thanks to a leak from the PC build of NBA 2K27. The normal release of the new DLSS version is expected on September 4th — at launch, the technology will be (officially) available only in this basketball simulator.

Previously, experimenters have already shown that nothing prevents running NVIDIA DLSS 5 with PlayStation 2 games: an emulator helps with this.
