1047 Games studio has responded to criticism regarding low concurrent player counts on Steam for its multiplayer shooter Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. In an official statement, the developers emphasized that Steam charts do not reflect the actual popularity of the game.
Steam Charts do not measure the fun factor. They show one number on one platform at one point in time. They do not reflect the full picture, the feel of the game, and they do not account for the community that is actively helping to shape the future of Arena Reloaded (including upcoming content like Arena Royale).
The developers also noted that they have completely rebuilt the game over the past six months and remain committed to the project. They urged players to try Arena Reloaded for themselves, highlighting that the game is free-to-play and the gameplay is currently at its peak.
The statement drew a mixed reaction: part of the community accused the studio of making "excuses" and cited the Streisand effect—the post only intensified attention toward the low numbers. However, after the publication, the Steam concurrent player count rose slightly and temporarily exceeded the one thousand player mark.
