Hellblade 3 Will Focus on Gameplay. Ninja Theory Has Taken Criticism into Account - Insider
Ninja Theory is working on Hellblade 3 with the aim of taking feedback on the second part into account. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II received high marks for graphics, sound, and acting, but was criticized for gameplay, which many compared to an "interactive movie."
This was revealed by journalist and insider Jez Corden, who has previously demonstrated knowledge of Xbox's internal processes. In a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast, he stated that Ninja Theory has postponed Project Mara, deciding to focus on Hellblade 3. According to him, Mara remained a concept and is unlikely to ever turn into a full-fledged game.
By focusing on Hellblade 3 and putting Project Mara aside, Ninja Theory wants to maintain the high level of graphics and sound, and make the game less limited in terms of gameplay. The studio wants to expand its audience and get rid of the "interactive movie" label. It is reported that Hellblade 3 will feature more mechanics and gameplay elements.
Xbox has not yet mentioned Hellblade 3 publicly.
