NVIDIA to Increase Shipments of RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti with 8GB Memory - Plans Were Different in the Fall
It seems that the shortage of video memory has once again interfered with NVIDIA's plans and forced the company to change its priorities.
According to Board Channels, NVIDIA intends to increase shipments of GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti video cards with 8 GB of video memory, while reducing the production of 16 GB versions. The reason is simple: the shortage of VRAM and rising prices for chips make the production of older configurations less and less profitable.
Sources claim that the RTX 5060 with 8 GB will become the card with the "largest share of shipments" in the series, and the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB will be produced more actively than the 16 GB versions. The focus on more affordable versions should help NVIDIA maintain supply volumes and curb further price increases.
It is indicative that back in the fall of 2025, the same insiders were talking about the opposite. At that time, the company was allegedly considering reducing the production of 8 GB models due to weak demand. Now the situation has changed: the shortage of memory and the increase in the cost of components are forcing NVIDIA to revise its plans.
