Liu Kang vs. Kung Lao at the Blue Portal - Warner Bros. Showcases New "Mortal Kombat 2" Promo

Warner Bros. showcased a full fight sequence from "Mortal Kombat 2" directly within Mortal Kombat 1. Players who launched the game today saw a clip where Liu Kang (Ludi Lin) battles the resurrected Kung Lao (Max Huang). The fight takes place in the Blue Portal arena, which first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2 for Sega Genesis and SNES in 1993. This promo thus connects three products from the series across different eras.

Although the video is currently exclusive to the game, the recording quickly spread across social media. You can watch the clip at the following link.

It was also revealed that the sequel will feature many battle arenas inspired by the games in the series. According to producer Todd Garner, the team had more freedom and budget for the second part, so the action will be more diverse and larger in scale.

"Mortal Kombat 2" is set to premiere on May 8.
